In advance of COP30, this two-day in-person event brought together governments, donors, multilateral climate funds, UN agencies, and civil society to identify concrete actions for delivering climate finance to fragile and conflict-affected countries. It was co-hosted by the Improved and Equitable Access Network, World Food Programme (WFP), the UNFCCC, the G7+ Secretariat, ODI Global, and Korea International Cooperation Agency at WFP headquarters in Rome.
-
Day 1 featured a high-level multi-stakeholder meeting on improving equitable access to climate finance, hosted by the IEACF Network.
-
Day 2 convened the technical meeting of the project ‘Needs-based Finance for LDCs and SIDS Facing Conflict and Severe Humanitarian Needs’: the latest phase of the UNFCCC’s needs-based finance project which is supporting Chad, Papua New Guinea, South Sudan, Timor-Leste and Yemen to assess their needs and priorities and translate these into specific funding projects and programmes.
More information about the event is available on the IISD's SDG Knowledge Hub. A press release about the event was released by think tank ODI Global, which attended the conference.
